Hello everyone !
Today we are going to talk about the expression "to be in bailey".
Meaning: getting ready to fight, engaging in a competition, intervening in a debate.
Baileys were the enclosed spaces where tournaments were held near castles.
The inner courtyard of these was often cramped and always crowded with small buildings: stables, kennel, oven, well ...
