In the Middle Ages, Noli was a thriving maritime town under the benevolent “patronage” of the powerful Republic of Genoa.

This sunny fishing community has a rich history of independence, trade and competition.

Every September, in order to determine the fishing rights for the following fishing season, the gozzi (typical fishing boats of Liguria) from the four districts of Burgu, Ciassa, Màina and Portellu organize a regatta on a course of 1,600 meters, in fractions of 400 meters between the buoys.

Not satisfied with this form of competition alone, the merchant families of each district compete with each other to build tall red brick towers, a sign of their wealth.

Their successful buildings give the town of Noli its distinctive appearance, although no merchant tower can rival the proud castle atop Mount Ursino, whose constant vigilance and defensive walls protect Noli from Saracen raids and onslaughts. envious neighboring towns!

Each game follows a series of rounds in which players secretly bid on four actions using coins.
The player who bids the most in each action wins a bonus or gets closer to victory by building a floor of their tower.
 Between each auction session, players frantically roll dice in real time to simulate the famous Regata-dei-Reoni.

The winner of the race gets to fish in the best places, drawing from the best deck of fish cards, while the other players must draw from worse draws with fewer fish.

 These cards can also have events such as "attack of the Saracens!" » and “Storm!” which shake up the game and push players back.
 If a player manages to build 6 tower floors, or have the most tower floors at the end of the game, they win!
