Welcome to a new opus of “Offs du JJV”!
The battle: learn to overlap and enter into conflict.
My memory of the battle begins at 3 years old, when I played with my cousins.
No Batawaf or Batanimo at that time, but a good old deck of 32 or 54 cards would do.
In ascending order or by values for Jacks, Queens, Kings, Aces and Jokers.
Whoever had the strongest card won both cards in play, or more when there was one battle or multiple battles.
A game of chance, the battle game allows you to gently learn about card games and the battle brings the concept of confrontation with the other player(s).
He gently learns to win and lose and to react to the risk factor of the cards in his hand.
Learning to play by following rules that put all players on an equal footing also allows young children to learn and then enjoy the games.
With the battle, we learn to confront two cards by their values, making win the strongest, but we can also lose stronger cards in the battles.
The setting of the game quite often makes it easier to manage the emotions linked to victory or defeat, because you can take revenge or even have a good time.
A game is sometimes like in life, as Philippe Le Guillou says “Life is a game. You have to know how to lose”.
But whatever happens, as Jack London puts it, “Life is not just about having the right cards in your hand; sometimes it's knowing how to play well with a bad game”.

I believe that together we can enjoy the playful world even more.
I am proud to be able to say that the store has contributed to developing the playful world in Vaison and its surroundings.
In Vaison now, thanks to the impetus of toy libraries, associations, companies and passionate players, we Play the Game!
Five years ago, the situation was not the same. A few players were playing among themselves and the game animations were running timidly.
Over the years, game associations and toy libraries have opened their doors and allowed a greater number of players to join the fun adventure.
Events such as the Cannes International Games Festival, Octogones in Lyon or even the Parthenay Games Festival, among others, contribute to this influence of the games.
In Vaison and its surroundings, I spared no effort to help promote the world of games on my modest scale as a small shop.
One of my great pride is to see new players joining the gaming world and getting involved with enthusiasm.
I will continue by your side the promotion of board games, games that bring us closer!
I am very happy to be proactive and to see new partnerships being established in the interest of the fun and intriguing world of board games.

Do not respond negatively to negativity.
The life of a business is not always rosy.
As soon as we try to try things, it is not always pleasant for some.
Afterwards, if we ask ourselves the question of knowing for whom and why we created, we know why we continue.
Because yes, we can't please everyone, that's obvious and so much the better!
As long as what I do is relevant to my clients and my players, then for me that is the most important thing.
What touched and hurt me via mean-spirited remarks at the start of the store, now only strengthens me even more.
This is what this former nice shopkeeper from Vaison had encouraged me to do, shield herself and ignore her.
Thank you for this very nice advice, because over time I understood and I continue to understand what you wanted to say. :)
Regarding the request for solidarity from a colleague who has soiled my business since it has existed, I just answer her this "No, thank you".
No conflicts for me, no dramas, no animosity.
When a dog barks at you, you're not going to bark back.
The same goes for the negativity that some people apply on a daily basis.
You are alone with your negativity, so good luck to you because it must be difficult to bear.
I am not a negative person, so bark, I will continue to be positive and believe in this for everyone who also believes in me and my store. :)

Failures driving success.
From an early age, I learned that not every failure was final when I played chess.
In everyday life, I missed a lot of things that allowed me to progress and improve.
Because to fail is to succeed in fits and starts. A failure gives us experience and allows us to have experience.
And then failing is also proof that we have tried. The real failure is what you didn't try.
I failed when I wanted to create certain animation times, which allowed me to better design the following animation times.
I failed when I encoded pages of my site, even managing to make it overload and disappear momentarily…
But the following times, I did not start from nothing, but from the experience that these failures gave me.
A failure is only definitive if it is useless and does not teach us anything.
Sometimes our greatest failures contribute to creating our greatest successes afterwards!

During these first five years with you, I was able to develop the store.
Because your constructive opinion on the store is very important to me, I remain at your disposal on a daily basis.
Thanks to your proposals to improve the store, its evolution has always been in the right direction thanks to you.
And little by little everything fell into place. First with the sale of games, then with services and finally with animations.
I would not have been and I still would not be able to offer beautiful playful nuggets or unique moments without your enthusiasm for board games or your desire to discover them.
5 years ago in Vaison, board games were not as common as they are now.
You have and continue to trust me and I strive to ensure that you can continue to do so. :)

Let's talk about this passion for the game that drives me.
Born from my earliest childhood, the game has always been for me above all a way of sharing with other players.
Whether it was with my grandfather, when I started playing or now that I play with you on a daily basis; playing board games, for me, is above all about sharing.
Because beyond the fun that a game provides, sharing a moment with other players is a moment suspended in time, unique and irreplaceable.
We discover each person through their way of playing and interacting with others.
What is interesting is to see players discover themselves through the game, because it allows them to open up a little more to the other players around the table.
I particularly like when the games animations allow people who did not know each other to discover each other and to make acquaintances, or even better very often friends.
So do I drive my passion for games or does it drive me?

With great achievements already accomplished with you by my side, I do not intend to stop in my tracks.
When I look back 5 years, when I created the store, I intended to develop game animations that did not exist in Vaison.
Some immediately trusted me, seeking my experience in animation to energize their organizations.
I would also like to thank these first people and companies who believed in my game animation project from the start.
I would particularly mention Mac Donald de Saint Romain en Viennois and their kind recommendation to other companies and institutions after having tested the game animations. :)
Thank you also to the town halls and toy libraries for your trust for 5 years now, thank you Vaison, where we Play the Game. ;)
And thank you around Vaison and elsewhere where we also play the game. ;)
Thank you especially to you my customers and everyday players, who allow me to continue the fun adventure by your side. ;)
Thank you to the entertainment teams that I joined or managed, particularly my Italian-Maltese froufrous team (Thank you frou frou team, grazzie mille frou frou team) and especially the entertainment team with whom everything started and continues every christmas, I named team fada. ;)

My happiness is hidden in the little things we share together.
Curious and passionate player, I like to unearth playful nuggets to be able to share them with you during playtime or make you discover them at the store.
Because sharing my passion for games with you enriches me as much as you do. You're not the only ones discovering things.
I really appreciate when you also make me discover games that have escaped my radar as a curious player. :)
Because yes, it must be said, with a year between 1000 and 1500 minimum games that come out, we humanly cannot know everything ^^.
With other passionate players, whether professional or avid gamers, we each play games that focus on our own interests.

Alone in the face of doubt, I stand up.
The life of an independent business can be quite random.
During the covid crisis, for example, I wondered if the store would be able to operate despite the closure and the restrictions first.
That's where you came in and where you were great, because even closed, you continued to trust me.
I was very lucky to have you, as you have allowed me during this time to keep the boat afloat through Click and Collect and shopping on the store site.
I had a lot of doubts, doubts that you swept away with your kindness and your loyalty to the store.
So, thank you very much for that!
And then being an independent shop means that I can only count on myself…
No branch or large group to back you up when times get tough.
Even if I was asked to take over as a franchise the suite of a large brand, my choice to be an independent boutique was carefully considered.
I didn't want to be able to just give you generic choices of board games, but also to be able to give you a range of indie publishers.
I have always had at heart, even in the face of difficulty, never to let go.
For what ?
Because sharing the best of the fun world has always been and will always be my driving force.
If something is difficult, it is not impossible!
I doubt, I sometimes succeed, I often make mistakes, but I always learn!

I remember the first game I sold at the store was a 6 that takes, the day after it opened to a lovely gentleman who is always at the playful rendezvous of the store. ;)
I remember my first game animations at the store with Camille, Yanis, Tristan, Sophie, Jessica, Claire, Vanessa, Pierre, Lilah, Sarah, Adem, Maxime… among others… ;)
I remember my first outdoor activities for McDonald's in Saint Romain en Viennois, the first game festivals and activities in the store's toy libraries. ;)
I remember our moments of games shared within the various festivals, seminars, games animations, team-building, volunteering throughout the year. ;)
I remember everything ! From all of you! From every unique and magical moment that we have been sharing every day since June 25, 2018!

A vague uncertainty: start a project!
The life of a business is not only made up of ups, it is also made up of downs.
When you set up your creative project, there is some doubt about the feasibility of your project.
We wonder if the project is viable in the long term and if the public will be there.
When I launched my project to create the store in April 2018 in Vaison, I didn't know if customers would buy into it.
Quite simply because in 2018, the gaming world was not as developed as it is now in Vaison.
There was no game association or toy library to contribute to the dissemination of the playful world.
The various events that we go through with a company can comfort us in our idea or on the contrary plunge us even more into doubt.
It's not always easy on a daily basis, but I think it was the hardships I went through in the store that allowed me to believe even more in my project every day.
I am delighted today to see loyal customers and friendly players throughout the year.
Whether you are customers from Vaison, the surrounding area, other regions or other countries, thank you all for sharing this daily life with me.
I am proud to be able to offer you fun nuggets on a daily basis and the moments we share are my most beautiful guest book, so thank you!

All year round, I try to play the game and offer you fair prices.

Play to create links between players!
The game creates a link between players by encouraging them to share common rules, but always different strategies.
By sharing a game and teasing or cooperating with other players during games, we get to know each other a little better.
We discover the fine strategists, the players who cooperate to beat other players, the players who play it solo.
The game creates a closeness between the players, because it allows them to get to know each other in a framework that is common to them.
Many of my players during animation times have discovered commonalities, in addition to board games, with others.
I am thinking, for example, of this shy child who did not dare to play with other children, because she was afraid of “being ridiculous” because she had not played board games much before.
So I took the time to play with her a little to begin with, then little by little, she managed to talk to the other children and play with them without me being present around the play table.
At the end of the animation time, she had made new friends and was happy to have managed to play with the others, she had even won a few games.
As you can see, young or old, we can always find something to gather around board games.

I remember this 85-year-old player who was afraid of being lost while playing with her children and grandchildren, because they were more used to playing board games than she was.
We started every day with games based on classic games she had already played and now she plays the game of discovering new games every time.
She succeeded, by gaining self-confidence, in developing her curiosity and enthusiasm for games.
Now, she is no longer afraid to test new animation games and she even often asks her children and grandchildren to play together when they get together as a family outside animation times.
The board game allows you to have an equal footing with all players and to dare to develop game strategies from the simplest to the most complicated.
The board game is an engine of moments shared together, because we listen to the other players to progress in the game.

The great thing about board games is that there are so many varieties of games that one can explore different themes and mechanics at any time.
For example, I am quite bad at immediate memory games, but I make up for it with strategy or logic games that I particularly enjoy.
For 10 minutes or 10 hours of play (or more, huh, it's not forbidden ;) ), the game allows a unique and timeless moment.
A time that we devote to ourselves and to others.

Born during the rise of board games!
Born in the late 80s, I was born at the propitious moment in the development of board games that preceded our current board games.
The 80s and 90s saw the board game take a turn by becoming a more developed and affordable family practice.
Following wider diversification in these years, the rise of board games exploded in the 80s.
Games became more varied and therefore reached a wider audience.
These same 80s when we see the development of toy libraries and the professionalization of the field thanks to events such as the Spiel des Jahres from 1978 in Germany and especially the Cannes International Games Festival.
I played games that no longer exist such as the secret phone, let's draw fashion, trap marbles, mouse catcher and many more...
We have all also already played these games that still exist such as Uno, monopoly, good pay, destiny, doctor maboul, power 4, trivial puirsuit, gluttonous hippo, sinking touchdown, twister, etc…

Playing is learning while having fun!
The game is an incredible tool to learn lots of new things.
In addition to learning to follow rules on an equal footing between all players, the game allows you to discover various worlds and develop your knowledge.
When playing Timeline, for example, placing major events in chronological order helps memorize these events, or at least get an idea of their time of existence in relation to other events.
The game also develops curiosity if you look into it even a little. ;)
We discover that Hanabi for example means in Japanese "fireworks" by the ideograms flower and fire 花火.
Even by playing Uno, you learn to play American 8.
By playing Reversi, we learn moves that we also make in the game of go.
Even much more than learning, we have fun with loved ones and we sometimes discover hidden facets that only reveal themselves during a moment around a board game. ;)
For example, when playing Jokes de Papa against my best friend, I like to make a particular expression that makes him burst out laughing every time, as you know with Jokes de Papa, you laugh, you lose ^^.
By playing with you around a table on a daily basis, I discover you are determined, strategists, and even sometimes a little trickster. ;)

Playing is developing your logical mind!
When we get out of our comfort zone, the game allows us to develop our logical mind.
The rules of the game, indicating how to play, guide us to organize ourselves by adapting to the constraints and possibilities that each game offers us.
This involves integrating the rules as the game progresses at first so that you can then find your own mechanics and play according to the interests you want to derive from the game afterwards.
Are we going to try collaborations to progress faster in a game or on the contrary try to block other players to win solo?
Each game leads to a different level of thinking, even the simplest ones such as discard games or aperitif games.
The Connect 4, for example, mobilizes the reflection on the fact of aligning four pawns of our color without forgetting to block the lines of pawns of the other player.
Resource games encourage us to weigh the pros and cons of combos or actions that will earn us or make us lose points.

We discover a lot of things by playing board games.
You can be a novice or a seasoned player, you always end up discovering new themes or game mechanisms to challenge yourself. It is not always easy to step out of your comfort zone, board games being no exception, to approach and discover things that are unknown to us.
By opening up to games that we do not know, we sometimes discover unsuspected facets of ourselves, as for example during semi-cooperative games.
I am thinking in particular of Galérapagos, to name just one, where we either develop the desire to rot others (in the context of the game of course ^^), to help each other and sometimes end up losing because eliminating by players with whom we had ephemeral alliances…^^
In the end, semi or cooperative or even competitive games, we all want to win, but we can't all win.
Where we all win is by sharing a good time gathered around a game.

Among the creations that I have been led to carry out with you, some remain in my mind more particularly.
Brico’récup is one of them.
Recovering objects intended to be thrown away to give them a second life is a project that I co-host with pleasure with my former colleagues.
The times of collaborative games during the Christmas workshops where all the children create Christmas decorations and play together around our big games and board games also delight me a lot.
Intergenerational games throughout the year that allow families to laugh and enjoy good times together are priceless.
I have created unique workshops for all of you and I will continue to do so, because I love sharing my passion with you.

A passion develops!
And since a passion develops, as it goes.
From chess to newer games, I developed a taste for the game quite quickly.
From the creation of my first mini-games and stories to the development of specific board games with children, teenagers and their parents and grandparents when I was an animator, everything has been there.
I also rely a lot on my past and present experiences in animation to try to always offer unique playing times adapted to the different audiences with whom I work on a daily basis.
No audience is the same, so none of my animations are alike. I like to offer you moments of games that look like you.
Playing with you and sharing this passion with you allows me to develop it even more.
Very happy to contribute to the game world on my modest scale, I am very satisfied when I see smiles on your faces and bonds that are created between players.
My most beautiful driving force in this adventure is you, so thank you very much for traveling in my fun bus!

Welcome to a new opus of the JJV Offs!
When the passion for the game takes you!
The passion for the game took me when I was about 2 or 3 years old.
It started with a basic battle game with my grandparents, then it continued with chess from the age of 3.
By dint of determination and failures, I ended up, thanks to my grandfather, a former chess competitor, by winning against him at the age of 5.
It was also at this same age that I began to learn to read and write, which allowed me to start creating my first board games.
Apart from having created a Risk with the world map of my schoolgirl desk and pawns and dice taken from different games, I was already creating stories.
Quite short, given my young age, but always sharing them with friends and girlfriends.
From the age of 9, I created stories in game books and others that looked like falling in love with escape games that we played at school with my little friends on the playground.
Since December 2022, I have embarked on game books for children and adults on the store's website.
You will also be able to find some in December 2023.

This year the gaming world is celebrating a special anniversary! 35 years is not nothing!
It has now been 35 years since a game first received the golden ace award.
A fun little flashback...
February 1988, two years after the creation of the Games Festival in Cannes where scrabble and classic games are kings, the world of games takes a decisive turn...
Arrive the famous Golden Ace and Game of the Year with different categories.
So 35 years this year that games are awarded and rewarded for their originality!
The first golden ace in 1988 was Super Gang, where gangs of evildoers run rampant.
Their goal is to bring in as much money as possible by doing heists and other thunderous activities until the police come in, we try to send him to the other players to save his skin...
Since 1988, the game world has evolved and its specialization has made it and still makes it unique in its kind...

The diversity of the games offered in my field, allows me to offer you games to please and enjoy playing all together around a table.
Whether in a residential home, with pitchouns, children, teenagers, friends or families, a game is always a pleasure that I share with you.

So many little things in the life of a business and life in general that make me happy and encourage me to continue to share these unique moments of my board game store with you.

Enchanted Christmas
This year, like the previous ones, our games and creative workshops allow children to enjoy a little of the magic of Christmas.

Sharing these workshops with the children is for me an essential driver of Enchanted Christmas.
An animator for more than two decades, I offer these workshops every year with the aim of offering a playful moment around the games and Christmas decorations that we create.

Welcome to a new opus of the JJV Offs!
Playful pixies.
During the Christmas period, we offer manual workshops and free games for all children from 4 years old every Sunday in December before Christmas.
In addition to the workshops, I become a playful elf by volunteering play time with children in Vaucluse, Drôme and Gard before Christmas.
After Christmas, my role as a playful elf continues somewhat during the Suns of Winter games and manual workshops offered by the town hall of Angers.
It is important for me, at Christmas even more than at other times, to bring a smile to the faces of the children that we make play with my former colleagues from the town hall and the other volunteers.
It was my former colleagues who pushed me to tell you about the volunteer work I do, otherwise I would not have mentioned the subject.
Either way, my role as a playful elf brings me a lot of human joy.
The smile of children and families is the greatest thank you we can receive.

Friend of the planet.
Aware that the smallest impact that we can have can be useful to the planet, a few obvious reflexes imposed themselves on me.
We turn off all devices that are not in use every lunchtime and evening: computers, printers, payment terminal, parcel terminal.
Standby being energy-intensive, we turn them off and only turn them back on when the store is open.
Everything is off as soon as we leave the store, including the sign and all the lights in the store!
These are small daily efforts that add to the reuse of our order boxes for orders made on the store's website or to create various decorations and displays.
All printing errors are used to make draft sheets.
We use reusable cartridges for the store's printers as well as recycled and recyclable paper.
Our gift wrap is kraft and therefore easily recyclable for reuse.
These are just small efforts, but they are so important for the planet and for us.

Every year we participate in various voluntary events in Vaucluse and Maine-et-Loire.
Different benevolent associations that are vital to the well-being of the public who benefit from them.
It's not much, but we offer our time and game donations.
Even if sometimes it's not much for us, it can mean great things for the people who receive them...
Promoting hobbies and seeing a smile appear on the faces of these people with a big heart is magical.
Surrounded by other volunteers with a big heart, it's always a pleasure too.
For the sake of the respect and discretion demanded by these associations with a big heart, we will just tell you that we have some of them particularly at heart.
The associations dedicated to children remain the ones that touch us the most...
Making a sad child smile gives you eternal magic in your heart...

The game at work.
When I was a facilitator for the city of Angers, I participated with my fellow facilitators in a “group cohesion” workshop.
We participated in a workshop with board games with successive challenges that required collaboration between the facilitators to succeed.
Based on this excellent idea of a Team building workshop, we now offer workshops aimed at companies with the aim of creating cohesion within teams.
Cohesion in a team is not an innate thing.
Board games offer an original and different approach to the usual team building.
The discovery and the expectations they create make it possible to grope on more slippery ground in a team.
By dint of groping, we end up putting our finger on things that we would not have paid attention to in normal times.
A good progress indicator for a work team and ways to achieve common goals.
PS: In Angers, we were a close-knit team and passed the tests easily. It helps to know the strengths and weaknesses of your colleagues to progress together in a team spirit... ;)

In the fun world of board games, we are lucky to meet a majority of passionate gamers.
The players, incorrigible gamists since the beginning or new recruits, all share the same passion.

We enter without taking the lead (well yes, I admit a little anyway with the rules of certain games at the beginning ^^) and we immediately try to share our favorites with our loved ones.

But we don't just provide games to our partners, sometimes moments of game animations slip in here and there ;)
Who says games from small publishers, says discovery of fun nuggets for you to discover ourselves!
So we sacrifice ourselves, and we play the game to make you discover less known and interesting games. ;)

Ludo’Entertainer
Throughout my decade of animation with children and teenagers, I also led animations for toy libraries and toy buses.
The intergenerational activities that I led for different organizations, allowed me to transmit part of my playful passion to a large number.
In Angers, where I come from, we ran workshops called “Pied 2 Bat”.
Like other animators, I went to the bottom of partner buildings and offered different games and activities to children in surrounding buildings.
“Anim’ ta cité” is a time of collective creations and local actions which also allowed me to get out of my comfort zone.
Always ready to offer activities and entertainment that bring people together, these experiences have really enriched me.
This is why when creating the store in Vaison, Joue le Jeu was not only dedicated to selling games!
Because the board game animation part is a way for me to convey my passion and share the pleasure of the game.
Coming to you to make you play and play with you was a no-brainer!

Years of animation
21 years ago, I started to animate in a playtime association.
Having started playing games at the age of 3, when I was asked at 14 to lead a game time with other teenagers like me and for children, I did it quite naturally.
After my studies and having worked in commerce to finance them, I returned to animation to make it my definitive profession at the age of 24.
So I've been hosting officially for 11 years and unofficially for 21 years ;)
I never lost this desire to make people play and share my passion for games with as many people as possible.
Also around a game, “the more the merrier”.
So don't hesitate to come and continue to share the playful madness with us. ;)

PIL or Face?
At one point, two opportunities presented themselves to me: to take up an interesting job in animation or to open a board game store…
Face, animation is a job that is also a passion!
A job that allowed me to rub shoulders with other great animators with whom I was able to forge solid experience in different types of activities…
Activities that have allowed children from 2 to 85 years old to share moments together, to listen to each other and to marvel.
PIL, Passion + Idea + Local, the perfect combo to turn a passion into a job!
A passion that makes everyday life more fun and friendly. Sharing it with you is just the icing on the cake.
An idea not only to sell games, but to ensure that the game is a shared moment.
A place that allows you to discover fun nuggets, but a name that is not limited to the local and is also exported to outdoor activities.
PIL or Face, although Face suited me very well too, PIL suited me even better!

The store's anniversary is an opportunity to thank all our customers, young and old alike!
On this occasion, we offer you an online game and in-store discounts.

Enchanted Christmas and Brico’ Recup’
Every Sunday in December before Christmas, we offer free Enchanted Christmas workshops for children.
During 30-minute slots, children can discover board games or make Christmas decorations with us.
A time for discussion and creativity, the Enchanted Christmas workshops allow children to flourish...
Having hosted a “Brico’ Récup’” workshop for years, my goal was to make children aware of recycling and the environment.
We made unique and original creations from everyday objects by giving them a second life.
Brico’ Récup’ workshops that I continue to lead with children and teenagers to create decorative objects, furniture or even games and give them a second life.
We can't imagine all that we can achieve with recycled objects or everyday life!
During our manual workshops of the year and Enchanted Christmas, we try as much as possible to make use of materials and objects that would have ended up in the trash when they were far from being able to go there.
In addition to the ecological gesture, children and teenagers are happy to have a personalized object that they have made themselves.
Small gestures don't matter much, but it's these little things that make a big difference.

Virtuous circle
In an eco-responsible approach, a large part of our packaging received when ordering games is reused.
They can be used for the packaging of online orders, to create displays or even to create store and window decoration.
This is an approach that we have been carrying out since the creation of the store and apply in our daily actions.
For example, we turn off the lights of the sign, the store and the computers and other electrical and electronic devices as soon as we are closed or when they are not in use.
The gift wrap that we offer is made of recycled and recyclable paper, as well as the adhesive tape which is made of a totally recyclable vegetable plastic.
We have exchanged all halogen bulbs in the store and the sign for LED bulbs that are better for the environment.
We donate furniture or objects that we no longer use so that they can have a second life.
We try to contribute on our small scale…

As you already know, I have been playing since I was young.
The world of games has always rocked my childhood and followed me until adulthood.
Working in a field where you live one of your passions is just great.
We no longer want to share it with everyone, because we love what we do.

The game allows you to get together for a fun time.
Whether it is strategic, atmosphere, management, board, speed, etc...
The game is always a moment to sit down together and share.
Whether we take it very seriously or more lightly depending on our mood or desire to play at the moment, there is always a game that lends itself to our playful experiments, even the craziest... ;)

I remember one day this CEO of a large company who came to the store for services and ended up buying games for his grandchildren because he told me that you could see that I knew from what I was talking about.
There followed a long discussion about why I created the store and how long I had been playing board games…
Taking care of the steps he had to take, I didn't realize that he was watching me carefully out of the corner of his eye, absorbed in the reception of my other clients.
Once he was done, he paid and told me the following things:
"You know how to listen and respond to customer requests, it's not given to everyone".
"The attentive and benevolent attitude you have towards people is an invaluable asset and few people have it"
"The good thing about you is that you see beyond business, you are human above all".
I thanked him, even though I don't know if I deserved all those compliments.
I am in commerce as I am in everyday life, no more, no less...
And if he reads this, I say thank you again for this conversation and these compliments that go straight to my heart.

Magic packets
During the Christmas period, we prepare different types of gift packages.
Our favorites remain those for children where we take particular pleasure in making original packages and hiding lots of little surprises in them. :)
I remember a merchant in the town where I was born who put out surprises in addition to Christmas presents. As a child, these little gifts made me happy.
From the first Christmas of the store, I took pleasure in creating or offering little surprises to hide in the gift or its package so that the children could feel the joy of an unexpected surprise in addition to the original gift.
I smile thinking of all these children who perhaps have the same pleasure as me, I had little to open gifts and discover more surprises... :)
Adding surprises that correspond to our customers and their children and seeing that they have had the desired effect (surprising and pleasing) is an incomparable pleasure, especially at Christmas.
It reminds me of this little 4-year-old man who came to get a surprise with a personalized package just for him and who asked me:
“And the gift packages, did the elves make them? ".
To which I nodded and he added,
"It's magic!" ".

Unique
During a time of volunteering, I found myself during an intergenerational play time to animate a role play.
As a game master, I have made it my mission to succeed in bringing parents and children together around secret objectives related to games...
The goal was to solve puzzles using the clues that each parent and each child had in their hands.
During this play time, an autistic child was afraid of the hubbub caused by the other apprentice investigators and their parents.
His mom was about to quit the game so she could reassure her autistic son when her other son started sulking, saying, "Mom, I don't want to quit the game."
The mother was going to try to calm her son down like she had done before, singing him a certain song that would calm him down.
Seeing this mother saddened that her other child can no longer play and having previously observed it, I approached the young autistic child and sat down in front of him, starting to sing the famous song.
He then took my hand to show me that he was reassured by the song and his mother smiled at me knowing that she could continue the game with her other son.
When her first son had calmed down, we joined them to finish the game and the evening ended very well.
When I left, this mother said to me:
"Never change, you are extra, that's what makes you unique".
We always end up reaping what we sow :)

At valiant heart nothing impossible !
Whenever I encountered a difficulty that I thought was insurmountable, my grandfather always used this expression that his grandfather before him had also said to him:
" At valiant heart nothing impossible ".
I grew up with this idea that difficulty could slow us down, but not stop us.
Now, I see difficulty as a challenge that pushes us to surpass ourselves.
Creating the store was a challenge for me and it continues to be so on a daily basis with the difficulties that any trader can encounter: unfair competition, jealousy and various gossip, economic and health crisis, etc...
But beyond all that, there is the reason why it all started that keeps us going.
When you no longer know why you want to continue, you have to ask yourself why you started.
Often the answer to this question allows us to know why we do things and allows us to make choices in life.
When you have the heart to undertake and want to succeed in something, you have to give yourself the means to achieve them, whether it is easy or more complicated.
We will often fail, we will succeed sometimes, but we will always move forward more experienced than before and even more determined.
Because : " At valiant heart nothing impossible " ;)

A fun good time.
During events within private or associative organizations, I often find myself facing beginner players or connoisseurs of classic games.
Most of the time, they don't know all the current playful nuggets...
That's good, it's my role to make them discover them ;)
To get players to succeed in assimilating a game and its rules, it is often useful to offer games that are based on an already known mechanic.
As Pablo Picasso said so well:
“To teach people something, you have to mix what they know with what they don't know. »
It's a very wise phrase that I apply on a daily basis to get my players to become comfortable with unknown games and make them want to play again.
I must not be doing too badly, because, one example among many others, a little lady who did not want to play because she was not used to playing board games told me:
“I had a great time around the games with you. Looking forward to next week that you make us discover other games."

When the animations were suspended because of the covid, the online animations replaced them but it was not the same...
During outdoor events, we share extra moments with the players and the pleasure of the game is mutual as much for them as for me.
As soon as we were able to set up animations in secure sanitary conditions, we were happy to see that our regular players were there and had found other players to join us. :)
And as the expression “the more the merrier, the merrier” says so well, which we could adapt to the world of games as “the more players there are, the more we share”.
And we can say that entertainment is like cycling, it comes back on its own! ;)
We found the right reflexes and good habits quite quickly while respecting the health rules.
Getting together to play and share a fun moment, what more could you ask for?
Best, perhaps the closing sentence of one of the animations by a regular player:
“You are on top, always pleasant and smiling”.

The Christmas period is a joyous time when the playful world is very busy and happy to be as far as we are concerned. :)
The game is a way to bring players together in normal times, but the Christmas period has seen a large number of novice players regain a taste for games and the playful exchange that it entails...
Administering gossip to willing ears to recoup the profits is a rather lucrative Christmas spirit, it would seem…
I don't know what it is, because the integrity and trust of my customers are much more important to me than additional sales. But I guess all means are good to earn some money…
Strolling through a store to express a vicious glee that “it’s shit”. Giggling while staring at the shopkeeper there must be satisfying for people who peddle anything and everything…
I waited patiently without satisfying their craving for any negative reaction from me, when they moved on and realized that I was not alone...
Too bad, regulars were there and glared at them, scaring our missionaries away.
Thank you to you who trust us on a daily basis and to you who joined us in the playful world. :)
You will always be welcome to share the joy of the playful world together.

Among my clients, I have people from various backgrounds: regulars in Vaison and the surrounding area, players from different parts of France who come back to see us each time they pass through Vaison, players of different nationalities.
Preferring to favor the playful interest of games, both small and big brands, we test all the games before offering them for sale in order to be able to talk about them as well as possible.
This is felt by our customers from all walks of life who often tell us
“when we find a pleasant business, we come back to it”.
In our "Cavern of Alibaba" as our customers say, we have chosen to offer products from major distributors, but also products from designers and small independent distribution houses.

Generosity
A year ago, on the occasion of the Réussir au Féminin Trophy, I won the Agility Trophy!
This trophy rewards a company that has managed to do well during the Covid period.
I was also warmly congratulated by the jury for my nominations in the categories:
-Originality: I work in a predominantly male environment.
-Digital: I am leading a strong action to digitize my offer.
- Benevolence: I distinguished myself during the pandemic.
These nominations and this award allowed me to validate the fact that I was on the right path within my company.
Through our everyday actions, as long as we can, we will continue to: support associations with our donations, donate our time voluntarily, facilitate mutual aid actions via our social networks.
I made sure that even during the pandemic, I manage to find prizes to offer to associations, give time or help spread mutual aid.
For me, it is important to be able to give without thinking of receiving.
As Pascal Obispo says so well in his song, the important thing is to love:
“Giving is like receiving, but without realizing it”.

Reciprocity
You will certainly hear more or less good things about the store depending on who tells you about it.
Reviews that aim to destroy the store completely indifferent to me, because I know that those who really know me know how I work and why I do it...
The opinion of my loyal customers and close acquaintances is important to me, because it allows me to take into account another constructive point of view.
One thing is certain though. I think you have to respond to wickedness with patience.
Even if someone tries to discredit my store, I will continue to maintain its integrity and refer customers, even to people who try to give it a bad name.
Why ? Quite simply because I prefer to go against the current than against the heart…
It's not in my nature to try to hurt others on purpose.
I think that with even little bits of kindness here and there, we cannot change the world but contribute to making it a little better for us and those around us.
Some will say I'm naive...
No matter, the reciprocity of malicious acts will never happen from me!
I sincerely wish that everyone who undertakes something that is close to their heart succeeds.

A smile can change everything.
A while ago, I realized the positive impact one could have on people without even realizing it…
A client had just gone through difficult times and I listened to her as sincerely and peacefully as I could, without judgment, without advice, just giving her a sympathetic ear.
When she finished confiding, she thanked me for listening to her and I just smiled with kindness and compassion.
She then said to me “You know, a smile can change everything”.
And yes, being a local business and knowing its customers well, it allows you to be attentive and caring towards them even when it does not concern sales.
I am above all human, well before being a trader.
When you see that a kind ear and a reassuring smile can help, it's not much, but it's always a nice thing to offer.
