Every three months we make different themes for our storefronts with games to match.
Maybe it's scraps of animation :), the point is, I find the idea of doing one theme per season allows you to reinvent yourself and evolve the range of games in the store.
That's good, because in the world of board games, we can play with almost any theme thanks to our talented authors and illustrators :)
Thank you to them for allowing us to travel, to play different characters depending on the game and to discover new game mechanics at the same time :)

Because I have been an avid gamer from a young age of board and video games. :)
Because there was not what I was looking for to buy my games on Vaison. :)

And yes board games aren't just for kids. There are so many great games now that allow you to share a moment of complicity and friendliness between adults too, so why deprive yourself of it ;)

Every year, the Cannes Game Festival congratulates the game of the year while, more rarely, the Double 6 highlights the work of authors of board games.
The board game world is built on talented writers, remarkable illustrators, and game actors who believe in them ...
The Double 6 is awarded to game authors half by a jury and the other half by the public.
As the famous game author Théo Rivière says so well (among others author of Draftosaurus among his thirty games ^^):
"It also allows us to meet the public, to better understand how our games are appropriated by people: the board game is above all a cultural object before being an object of consumption".

My work in animation with children and in intergenerational activities immediately made me realize the importance of working with materials that would have less impact on the planet ...
Many of the delivery boxes are used to create decorations, supports for the mini-games, etc ...
The gift wrap and scotch tape we use are made from recyclable paper and plastic ...
It might just be a tiny drop in the ocean, but at least we try :)

When computers landed at the middle school library, I was one of the first to want to get into the "computer tool" ^^
Subsequently, we learn to use these critters which make all kinds of more or less mysterious noises (especially in the 2000s when it was becoming more popular ^^).
Then we learn to use what technology offers us :)
We then manage to secure networks and sites known to many ...
Finally, you learn to code and you don't just find yourself creating and personalizing your site, but also being able to offer cyberspace for customers who need it. :)

Seasoned handymen, we have my husband and I helped to totally change the initial look of the store that didn't look at all like what it is today ...
Painting for the gentleman, lime plaster for me, tearing off the linoleum glued to neoprene, leveling the store floor.
There is only the tiling that we did not do but entrusted to a very good craftsman.
Like what with determination, we can do anything!
It is this determination that accompanies me on a daily basis to offer you the board games that suit you or those to whom you offer them.

Previously a children's and intergenerational animator, playing was an integral part of my former profession.
To make children aware of respect for the environment, I offered a "Brico Recover" workshop, including one, "Crea'games" around board games.
And it gave board games created from everyday materials, to learn how to give a second life to everyday objects. In the photos, we recycled cereal boxes, scraps of paper from other activities, newspapers and magazines, milk bottles and their caps, among other things ...;)

In addition to winning the agility trophy rewarding our company for having succeeded in reacting positively and developing in the face of the crisis, I was also nominated in three other categories:
Originality: which rewards women who work in a predominantly male profession (won by Adrienne PHILIPPE, Distrigaz Provence).
Digital: which rewards strong action to digitize the offer. (won by Myriam DUGNAS, Petit Léon)
Benevolence: which rewards a company that has distinguished itself during the pandemic (won by Christine PEDDITZI, CP + Commercial Development).
Let’s not forget the creation trophy which rewards a company created in 2020 and which was won by Claire BOTTARO, Fée O ’Naturel.

Before opening the store, I worked in commerce.
Then especially in animation, where I lived very good years with children and by organizing intergenerational games libraries and many others ... :)
This desire to share moments around board games with you therefore stems from those years of animation and a passion for games since I was five years old. :)
Animation has been one of the greatest work experiences in my life. :)

Today in our Opus of "JJV's Offs" we tell you how our passion for the game was born ;)
I've been a chess player since I was 5 years old (like a platform series it seems, I don't have this platform so no idea ^^).
I improvised my first Risk by nabbing pawns here and there in my parents' games and by tracing the conquests of each army with an erasable marker on the world map that I used as a desk pad for school. :)
Then it all happened and I was never able to stop playing board games and video games. :)

Today for our second installment of "JJV's Offs", we are going to talk about the choice of the name of the store "Joue le Jeu".
"Playing the Game" is a 20th century phrase that means being loyal and outspoken, but also the idea of having a sincere and respectful relationship with one another.
"Play the Game" is therefore inspired by this desire to be respectful of our customers but also literally "play the game" with our customers by offering discussion times around board games. :)

Do you know what our logo and the name of the store stand for?
No ? So here's the explanation in pictures. :)
An inverted « J » for « Joue » in orange for joy and optimism.
A « l » for « le » in purple for friendship and dream.
A « J » for « Jeu » in pink for hapiness and youth.
A general « V » shape for « Vaison » in the form of a delighted smile.
Figures holding hand for sharing and conviviality. J
« Nous, on joue le jeu ! » which means « We do play the game ! ».
Implies that we chose to have correct prices and to play games with our clients and we also stay tuned.
