A man one day comes with bags full of board games to the store.

 Although I specify to him that I do not resume the games, he wishes to show them to me "in case you change your mind because there are some for 300 euros in there", he said to me, pointing his finger to his bags of games ...

 To please him, I walk over and look at the games he offers, reminding him that I won't be taking any back anyway, but I'm curious about board games.

So I see that he has some collector games that I had only had the opportunity to see in photos before. Unfortunately his games are in very poor condition, even good for the trash ...

I kindly tell him that he has collectors' games, but given their conditions they're not worth much. What he replies to me:

"If it's a question of price, I can offer you something" he told me with a tense smile before adding "I'm nice, I help you ... I suggest you buy them back 150 euros and give me a voucher of 150 euros to buy games from you ”.

I then confirm to him that it will not be possible and he says to me:

 "Too bad, if you don't see the golden opportunities, it's a shame for you" by putting away his games and leaving unhappy.

Bad luck for mister, I don't just sell board games, I am also a collector and therefore I know a lot of games, even the oldest ones…

 I heard it said!

One day a shopkeeper from a family of traders who have been in Vaison for 134 years now came to see me.

When she came to offer me the opportunity to pick up the premises of an old store in the city, she said this to me:

"You have a very nice store with a very good reputation in the town, that's why I'm here".

 I thank her timidly and she adds "His reputation precedes him and he is very dynamic".

We chat then and the subject of backbiting arrives. She then gave me a wise piece of advice that I try to follow on a daily basis:

“You have to shield yourself and ignore. But I'm not worried about you, you have the build and shoulders of a boss. "

 Shortly afterwards the wife and daughter of a former store owner came to see me.

They told me it was too bad I didn't take the follow-up.

They told me they understood that I preferred to remain independent so that I could offer more varieties to customers ...

Then comes the moment when a former animation partner recommends you to organizations because "their animations are top notch."

It just goes to show that when you do things with your heart and passion, that changes everything. :)

At the start of the store and even sometimes even now I have the right to a real show in front of and sometimes inside ... ^^

An improvised clown show that creates an obstacle course with the store sign ^^

Others become queen-sized dance halls with a frenzied floss in front of the window or a Parkinsonian twerk against the door ^^

Some people share their learning of animal sounds in dolby surround with you. ^^

A lucky charm placed in front of the door which spreads good luck to you in the store ... ^^

Donations of unexpected objects with, I suppose, good intentions on or around the panel: chewing gum, spit, dog needs, cat litter ...

And the winner is ... "I crashed the computer on purpose, so that'll keep you busy ...".

Yes, yes, we went to familiarity without even knowing each other ^^

Uses and customs that I did not know ... ^^

You know, there will always be people to make you understand that you are too many ...

But, you are never "too much" or "not enough".

Most importantly, don't let bad people trick you into believing that being a good person is a weakness.

Your kindness demands a strength from them that exceeds them;)

Damn, bad luck!

It seems that the first year of the store, I was chasing bad luck ...

After discovering that I was closing for good two months after opening, bad luck still followed me ...

Damn, then! ^^

According to another shopkeeper my local would lead bad luck to all those who would have worked there and would have ended up:

-lose their business

 -separate from their spouse

 - bring them bad luck.

It is clear that after 3 and a half years of occupation, I have not reported any such facts ...

I have passed the fateful moment of one year of bad luck of the premises it seems ^^

Phew! Here I am reassured ^^

Whatever, not necessarily ...

Then came the bad luck of the newspaper ...

But what is it, then ?

 This is a lady who sees a newspaper article on the store and tells me this:

"I don’t want to scare you, but I had a business and when I got into the newspaper it went down shortly after."

 I just said "Well look, we'll see".

After several successive articles in the press, it seems that I am not touched by the bad luck of the newspaper either… ^^

Believe in your projects, because they will always be your best outcome.

 Even if they fail in the end, you won't start over from scratch but with experience.

Everything becomes clearer

Throughout the preparation for the creation of the store, there were ups and downs ...

The support of the CCI was decisive in my business creation project and I cannot thank them enough for that.

During a CCI workshop for business creation support and advice, we had to present our project in two minutes flat.

 I presented the creation of the board game store as a project to bring people together.

I saw the game animations as a moment of initiation and sharing of playful moments.

 And as a convenience store, useful services to take over from certain services that were to come to an end.

Claire, the CCI advisor, congratulated my project and welcomed my promises of pre-opening.

I can say with pride that I stuck to my goals and promises of four years ago.

 The female success trophy came to congratulate my flexibility during the crisis with the agility trophy and special congratulations from the members of the jury for my nominations in the agility, digital, originality and benevolence categories.

The smile that touched me the most that day during my acceptance speech was that of Claire from the CCI and her adorable phrase "promises kept"

  In Vaison we don't like board games ...  

Before opening the store four years ago, I was advised to do a "define your business plan" workshop.  

 I do like all the other candidates for a business opening, and I tell about my plan to open a store selling board games in Vaison.    

The business advisor tells me that my project is doomed to failure and that board games cannot work in Vaison and its surroundings ...  

 She even adds that the daughter of a friend of hers tried to get a license and a room back in Vaison, but was refused.

  It chilled me a bit at the time ...  

But I struggled to open the store and start this wonderful adventure which continues for another 3 and a half years later thanks to you ;)  

 Her friend's daughter ended up finding a place in Vaison and I wish her to continue working in spite of everything ...  

If you believe in your project, try ... It is better to have remorse than regret. :)  

If I had let myself be demoralized and given up by then, we would not have shared those beautiful playful years ...  

 So if you follow me again and again in the fun adventure, I intend to accompany you there for a while;)

In case of failure, checkmate!

It is now 30 years ago that I learned one of the best lessons in life thanks to my grandfather…

While he was teaching me to play chess, I did not understand why all the strategies I tried did not succeed.

I got more and more discouraged with each loss, but already at 4 years old, I was determined to understand what had gone wrong with my strategy to evolve it and try to win.

With a lot of patience and kindness, my grandfather explained to me why I was losing with each new strategy.

As time went by, I progressed and ended up beating him when I was 5 years old.

I will never forget what he said to me then that day:

“For every problem there is a reasonable solution. It isn’t always easy to find, but with determination one always ends up achieving a resolution."

This wise phrase from my grandfather still follows me today ...

Of course, I failed many times, but I did not stay on failures.

I realized that my mistakes taught me a lot more than if I had done everything before.

There are no failures for those who know how to learn, but tries leading to a goal ...

My work in animation with children and in intergenerational activities immediately made me realize the importance of working with materials that would have less impact on the planet ...

Many of the delivery boxes are used to create decorations, supports for the mini-games, etc ...

The gift wrap and scotch tape we use are made from recyclable paper and plastic ...

It might just be a tiny drop in the ocean, but at least we try :)

Seasoned handymen, we have my husband and I helped to totally change the initial look of the store that didn't look at all like what it is today ...

Painting for the gentleman, lime plaster for me, tearing off the linoleum glued to neoprene, leveling the store floor.

There is only the tiling that we did not do but entrusted to a very good craftsman.

Like what with determination, we can do anything!

Previously a children's and intergenerational animator, playing was an integral part of my former profession.

To make children aware of respect for the environment, I offered a "Brico Recover" workshop, including one, "Crea'games" around board games.

And it gave board games created from everyday materials, to learn how to give a second life to everyday objects. In the photos, we recycled cereal boxes, scraps of paper from other activities, newspapers and magazines, milk bottles and their caps, among other things ...;)

I was already very happy to have been recognized and congratulated for the four nominations for the Female Success trophies of the CCI in the categories digital, originality, benevolence and agility.

Before opening the store, I worked in commerce.

Then especially in animation, where I lived very good years with children and by organizing intergenerational games libraries and many others ... :)

Animation has been one of the greatest work experiences in my life. :)

Today in our Opus of "JJV's Offs" we tell you how our passion for the game was born ;)

I've been a chess player since I was 5 years old (like a platform series it seems, I don't have this platform so no idea ^^).

I improvised my first Risk by nabbing pawns here and there in my parents' games and by tracing the conquests of each army with an erasable marker on the world map that I used as a desk pad for school. :)

Then it all happened and I was never able to stop playing board games and video games. :)

"Playing the Game" is a 20th century phrase that means being loyal and outspoken, but also the idea of ​​having a sincere and respectful relationship with one another.

A « l » for « le » in purple for friendship and dream.
